computer trouble.

Well, I finally got the external hard drive I have needed since Chris installed new software for me. I had no space left on my laptop, which made everything run slow and I couldn't really do anything. I wanted to make a short movie of Christmas Morning and I didn't even have room to import the video clips.

Anyway, I am all set up to start transferring files, and my computer locks up and won't restart...ugg!! So I finally figured out I needed to start it in Safe Mode and thankfully, an hour or so later, I was up and running again.

So...here are some video clips of the morning. Not perfect, but not bad for my first try at iMovie.

sigh.

This is all we have been doing this whole week. Poor Hannah can't even decide to sleep or play she is so off her normal schedule.

We are finally feeling better and despite a few sniffles and left over cough, we are all doing pretty well.

Thanks to Joe, our missing camera battery is finally found. We didn't even have it for Christmas, sniffle! We did take lots of video and I am working on making a clip for here. I have to get a hard drive first because my computer is too full of other stuff to make a movie.

Well, good night and I will be posting more regularly next week!!

Christmas.

Today is the day we have been preparing for for months and as always it is a little sad to see it come to an end. We had a wonderful day of relaxation. We went down to Jersey on Sunday to do Christmas there and we ended up coming home that night because Hannah had a bad cough. Yesterday, we had fun with our First Annual Carter Christmas Eve Open House. We loved combining some of our old traditions to make some new ones of our own this year.

Memory Makers of the day: Lizzie's Baby Alive that is a boy and much to our surprise has all the things a baby boy would have including the ability to pee on you, Jackson's Cars Mountain, Hannah enjoying the taste of every color tissue paper, and last, but not least my big surprise, my new iTouch (which I am using to post this now)!

It was a great weekend and we all enjoyed ourselves and got to actually sit back, relax, and take time to celebrate Jesus' Birthday!

Quote of the Day: "Being a Mommy is hard work!"-Lizzie said as she fed and changed her baby for the 5th time in a row. Joe said we need to bring out baby "Jackson" again when she is 16 to remind her :D!

joe.

Joe, my husband of 8 years and the father of my three beautiful children. Today Joe watched our three kids, plus one more, while I had my meeting for work (just happened to be a breakfast to celebrate Christmas). When I got home, he quickly dressed so we could go finish up our Christmas shopping. He patiently waited as we drove around to several stores and were unsuccessful at many stops. We even went to the mall in the evening with all three kids and searched for "perfect gifts" for the last few family members on the list.

He was very good, considering Joe's level of patience for crowds and people who don't follow simple "mall etiquette." I was pleasantly surprised by his optimism as we shopped, even as we were wiping white chocolate fingerprints off a sweater we did not want to buy, but Jackson thought Poppie might like.

So, Joe you continue to amaze me even after these 8 years of wedded bliss and I loved spending time with you today in the midst of a busy mall and several stores. Here's to many more years of happy Christmas shopping!!

Quote of the day: "This is a joke, right, this lady going 25 in a 45? If you can't drive, you shouldn't be out on the road!!" -Joe after his patience had worn out as we were driving home tonight.

do not shop at naptime

Today I had plans to go out this morning and get the two books for Lizzie's school I still needed for Christmas. Instead, Grandmom's frame came and I ended up working on that all morning. (It is great now that I got it set up.) I took Lizzie to school and decided to shop with just 2 kids...what a breeze. NOT at naptime. Jackson flipped out because he fell asleep in the car and once in the store, decided he didn't want to leave. I was the awful mother with the screaming kid being carried by his arm and feet dragging behind. Lots of fun!! All was smoothed over when we got home and he slept for an hour.

Quote for the day: "Mommy, come look at my activity set..." -Lizzie said this morning as she had set up the Fisher Price NATIVITY SET.

day 2

It was fun to get emails and comments from you about my "joining the bloggers." I am looking forward to taking a few moments at the end of busy days to jot some notes.

Today was my catch-up day. Since I work all weekend, I like to lay low and catch-up on laundry, emails, dishes, you know...

Brian and Ashley came over because they were still without power from the ice storm on Sunday. They got hit hard in Lebanon. They stayed the day and enjoyed dinner with us. While the kids napped, we got to watch a depressing Lifetime movie and dozed here and there. It is nice because this week I don't have any sub calls to make because Christmas Eve Services are already filled. Yey!! I do have to get the house in shape for the Christmas Eve Open House, so I am sure this is the most relaxing of all afternoons this week.

I guess that is all.

Quote for the day: "But Mom, I got to tell you shomething."-Jackson says this when he doesn't want to stay in bed at night and puts his little hands out to the side and shakes them dramatically. Suddenly, he'll forget what he needs to tell me!!

all aboard

Here I am finally jumping on to the blog train. I decided to think of it as a journal or scrapbook for my kids. I am always online with my job, so what is easier than popping over to post an update each day or so.

We'll see how it goes.
